Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has made no secret of his desire to play for Real Madrid.
The La Liga giants have once again been alerted to the possibility if signing the Gabonese forward after he refused to commit his future to Borussia Dortmund in a post-match interview.
Thomas Tuchel’s men beat Werder Bremen 4-3 at home in the last game of the season with Aubameyang scoring twice, taking his tally to 31 league goals for the season.
With Robert Lewandowski failing to find the net in Bayern Munich’s 4-1 win against Freiburg, Aubameyang was awarded the German Golden Boot (or kicker Torjagerkanone as it’s known).
Speaking after the game, Aubameyang argued with Dortmund’s translator over his answer to a question about his future.
After being asked if he would stay at Dortmund, Aubameyang replied: “We will see, I will decide next week.”
The reply clearly stunned his translator, just take a look at his face…
Rather than simply translating Aubameyang’s answer, he engaged the forward in a conversation, asking: “But what the cup final?”
Aubameyang refused to opt for a more diplomatic response and reiterated his original answer.
Dortmund play Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Cup (DFB-Pokal) final on 27 May.
AC Milan are also said to be interested in signing their former player this summer.
Whatever happens, Dortmund stand to make a very tidy profit if their top scorer departs.
Now, let’s take another look at the translator’s reaction…
