The finale of Ligue 2 is an absolute nail-biter, with SIX teams chasing the title on Friday evening.
French football’s second-tier has conjured up one of the tightest ever finales to a promotion race.
Leaders Strasbourg are favourites to be crowned champions – but even sixth-placed Nimes can win it.
Incredibly, three points separate those two sides.
And the fact Strasbourg have just 64 points from 37 games shows how close this division has been.
Two teams go up and the club finishing third will play-off with the third-bottom Ligue 1 side.
Strasbourg must be confident as they host Bourg, who are 14th in the 20-team league.
And there is perhaps only disappointing element for those who enjoy the gut-wrenching emotions of a final-day promotion battle: the six teams have avoided each other in the fixture-list finale.
Nimes have what seems the easiest match – a trip to bottom side Laval.
Contrast all this with the Premier League, where champions Chelsea are 10 points clear of second-placed Tottenham and 25 above Manchester United in sixth.
And Championship runners-up Brighton finished eight points in front of Reading in third.
League One champions Sheffield United ended up 27 points above sixth-placed Millwall.
And League Two table-toppers Portsmouth were 16 points superior to Carlisle in sixth.
