Manchester United flop Memphis Depay collected his Ligue 1 Goal of the Year award in an outrageous Michael Jackson-style jacket.
The Dutchman’s choice of outfit was even more stunning than the long-range effort that scooped the gong.
Depay, 23, has undergone a revival since ending his torrid spell at United for Lyon in January.
And his appearance at the French Football Awards was typical of the exciting winger.
Countryman Frank de Boer previously warned the youngster he needed to perform on the field before seeking attention off it.
And after five goals in 15 games, Depay obviously feels now was the right time to unleash his style.
His winning goal came in the game with Toulouse in March.
Depay turned two defenders near the half-way line before lobbing a superlative effort over the keeper.
After the game, he said: “I saw the goalkeeper in the first half already standing (away) from his goal, so I kept it in the back of my head.
