Antonio Conte’s wife reduced to tears as Chelsea fans chant in support of their manager

Elisabetta Muscarello found it all too much during a her visit to Stamford Bridge

This is why football is the beautiful game.

Chelsea fans brought Antonio Conte’s wife to tears as they sang the Italian manager’s name before kick-off and in the early stages of the game.

A full house at Stamford Bridge showed their appreciation for the title-winning boss by belting out his name over and over.

And it proved too much for Conte’s wife, Elisabetta Muscarello, who was seen blubbing in the stands, presumably overwhelmed with pride.

Conte himself clapped all four corners of the ground as his name echoed the stadium in the game’s opening exchanges.

Muscarello does not attend all Chelsea matches as she still resides in Italy with the couple’s young daughter.

The 47-year-old gaffer has already stated his intentions to move his family to London for the start of next season.

Rumours in recent weeks have suggested that Inter Milan are prepared to make Conte one of the best paid managers in the world if he is willing to leave Chelsea.

But this show of support from the fans and the emotional reaction of his wife bodes well for the Blues.

If, as expected, the former Juventus boss continues in west London next season you have to think they’ll start as favourites for the title.

Try telling Conte otherwise…
