Antonio Conte will happily be thrown into another ice bath if Chelsea wrap up the Premier League title at West Brom on Friday night.
The Italian was famously chucked into freezing cold water in just his underpants by Juventus players after their 2013 title win.
Asked if he feared a repeat of the stunt should the Blues get the three points they need at the Hawthorns, Conte was the epitome of Italian cool.
“If I am worried? No, I hope (they do),” he said.
“After one year when you work a lot and you suffer a lot, enjoying but also suffering, if you are able to win and to reach your target, then I think the moment of celebration must be fantastic.
“Now is not right to think about this because we have to take three points. After this, yes, I’m sure my players want to celebrate in the right way. I am the same.”
If Chelsea do not secure the title on Friday, they have two home games – against Watford and Sunderland – to complete the job.
But Conte, who led Juve to three consecutive Serie A titles, aims to finish the job as soon as possible.
“It’s not important where you win, it’s important to win,” he said.
“Then you will have the time to celebrate the win where you want. Tomorrow’s game is the most important game for us. It’s a final.
“We must know that to play against West Brom is not easy. This is a really strong team, a physical team, a good coach. For sure, the atmosphere can be very hot.”
