Napoli have taken the bizarre step of teaming up with Tinder, and have gone a step further by setting up striker Arkadiusz Milik with an online dating profile.
Rich, famous footballers rarely struggle to get a date, but Napoli fans used the app to contact Milik and send messages of support before he returned from injury.
The 23-year-old Polish hitman joined from Ajax last summer, as the man to replace Gonzalo Higuain who joined Juventus.
However, Milik has been sidelined since last October with a cruciate knee ligament injury, and has been eased back into the fold since his return in recent weeks.
Milik said:“I’m really proud to be part of this unique and innovative initiative with Tinder.
“The fans here have always given me a warm welcome and it’s really amazing to be able to interact with them directly.
Technology brings people together, just like sports, and I look forward to starting this new adventure.”
David Wyler from Tinder said:”We are happy to support Arek Milik and SSC Napoli.
“Tinder is first and foremost a platform for meeting new people. We look forward to connecting fans with their favourite player.”
Napoli are currently third in Serie A, eight points behind leaders Juventus , but are virtually assured to to qualify for the Champions League next season.
