Fans only need one word to describe Spurs’ performance against West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur fell to a 1-0 defeat to the Hammers on Friday night, and fans online were quick to attack Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Well, it feels like deja vu.

With Tottenham Hotspur chasing down the Premier League leaders to the very last month of the season, it all felt a bit like the end of the 2015/16 campaign all over again.

Of course, instead of chasing down Leicester, this season they were hunting down Chelsea.

That was, until they fell to a 1-0 defeat away at West Ham on Friday night, thanks to a second half goal from Manuel Lanzini.

The result leaves Spurs four points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, and the Blues have the benefit of a game in hand.

And given Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s performances up until this point in the season for a second year running, there was a similar theme from fans online… it was all, well, a bit, Spursy.

It seems a touch unfair on Mauricio Pochettino, who has built a brilliant side in his tenure at the North London club, and Spurs are clearly a team heading in the right direction.

However, until they address their problems in the final month of the season, those naysayers will always have the ‘Spursy’ excuse.

The title race seems to be over for another season, but you can bet Spurs will be up the right end of the table at this stage of the season again next campaign.
