We’ve been looking forward to Monaco’s clash against Juventus all week.
Honestly, we’re not exaggerating.
And while it wasn’t the goal-fest we were perhaps hoping for, it didn’t exactly disappoint either.
Gonzalo Higuain struck twice to take a pretty tasty 2-0 lead to the Juventus Stadium next week, and the Old Lady will surely fancy themselves to reach the Champions League final in June.
But an incident in the second-half has left us wondering whether Monaco should feel a little hard done by.
On the 67th minute, Juve’s veteran defender Giorgio Chiellini clashed with Monaco’s Radamel Falcao.
As the Italian received a yellow card for the incident, replays have given us food for thought as to whether he should’ve seen red.
It certainly looks like a painful one, and you have to question whether Chiellini slyly knew what he was doing.
However, you could also argue that his eyes were on the ball as he raised his elbow, and that Falcao may have simply ran into the 32-year-old as they both went for the loose ball.
Still, we’ve all seen lesser offences than that result in a red card in the past.
He may have just got away with that one.
