TAMMY ABRAHAM will double his Chelsea wages to a whopping £50,000-a-week – despite having played just 53 minutes of football for them – according to reports.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant season on loan at Bristol City – where he has scored 23 Championship goals in 40 games – and impressed the Premier League leaders.
The Robins looked like being relegation candidates, making the teenager’s goal haul even more impressive, before a brilliant April run earned them 13 points from a possible 15.
And The Standard reports that the Blues will reward him with a bumper new deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2021-22 season.
Abraham is the second highest scorer in the division, behind only Chris Wood who has been banging goals in for promotion chasing Leeds at the other end of the table.
Everton, Leicester and Brighton have all shown an interest in signing the England under-21 star, permanently or on loan.
Even if Chelsea keep hold of China target Diego Costa, they are likely to add another powerful forward to help with the goals in the Champions League.
Former striker Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata and Alexis Sanchez are all on their list and they would all block Abraham’s path into the first team.
Another loan – instead to a progressive Premier League side – would suit all parties as Abraham tries to be the club’s first serious academy graduate since John Terry.
