CHELSEA star N’Golo Kante has revealed his pick for PFA Player of the Year – and it’s not teammate Eden Hazard.
The pocket rocket scooped this season’s top individual prize on Sunday following his barnstorming performances for the Blues under Antonio Conte.
Kante won the title last year with Leicester and looks set to lift it again in May, which will make him the first player to win it consecutively with two different teams.
But Kante has surprised everyone when it comes to his own POTY choice.
According to Chelsea’s official club website, the France international voted for Liverpool ace Sadio Mane.
This could have something to do with players being unable to vote for their teammates, otherwise the nod would surely have gone to Hazard.
Reflecting on his win, Kante said: “It’s special because it’s our opponents who have chosen me as player of the year.
“I think this is a reward for this season and last season, and I want to thank everyone who voted for me to be part of the Team of the Season and to get this award, it means a lot to me.
“[My teammates] gave me a round of applause and that’s very important because without them I couldn’t receive this award.”
