Peter Odemwingie has arrived at the Nou Camp this morning claiming he’s about to join Barcelona.
The former West Brom and Stoke striker was pictured in his car having driven the 9700 mile journey from current club – Indonesian side Madura United.
Odemwingie was seen speaking to the Sky Sports cameras parked outside the famous Catalan stadium, telling reporters he’s convinced the Spanish champions are interested in signing him.
The 36-year-old has a track record of bizarre behaviour on Deadline Day having famously driven to QPR in 2013 to force a move through from the Baggies.
That 120-mile journey to west London, however, has been dwarfed by Odemwingie’s pilgrimage to Catalonia today.
Odemwingie’s agent Lee Satchell said: “Peter is confident a deal can go through.
“He still feels he’s got a lot to offer and reckons Barca must be impressed by his eight league goals in his last four seasons in England and the way he’s tearing up the Indonesian top flight.
“Rotherham and Madura United are natural stepping stones to Barcelona and, let’s be honest, MSO sounds way better than MSN, doesn’t it?”
Barcelona’s officials have admitted they had to Google who Odemwingie was when questioned about the reports.
