You can get unlimited Xbox One games for two months for just £2 this week

A limited offer on Xbox Game Pass gets you two months worth of games for just £2 - but you have to sign up before February 21

You can get two months’ worth of Xbox Game Pass for just £2 today, but you don’t have long to secure the deal.

The extended trial period for the Netflix for games is valid from today until next Thursday, February 21 — but will run for two months after you’ve signed up.

That means you’ll get to play Crackdown 3 without paying anything on top of your initial £2 when it launches this Friday, February 15.

The gloriously silly game of city destruction looks like it should be a lot of fun, though there are some feelings of trepidation that it won’t live up to its initial promise after long delays.

Thankfully the chance to play it for £2 means those risks melt away and you can just check it out for yourself.

If even £2 is too much to commit, there is a free 14-day trial that you can dive into before taking the plunge.

Don’t care for it? Then you’ve got the rest of the Game Pass library to fall back on.

WHAT ELSE IS THERE?

That includes a whole lot of Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat X for you to sharpen your skills before Mortal Kombat 11.

Other highlights this month include The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season from the now-defunct Telltale.

Pumped BMX Pro, de Blob and Batman: Return to Arkham — the Xbox One remasters of Rocksteady Classics Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City — are also coming to the service this month.

  • Xbox Game Pass, FREE 14 day trial – start it now
  • Xbox Game Pass, 2 Months subscription, £2 – buy it now

Xbox Live Gold gives you a small number of free games every month, discounts on games in the Xbox Store, and access to online multiplayer functions in many games.

Xbox Game Pass, meanwhile, is an entirely different kettle of fish.

It is basically Netflix but for Xbox One games, letting you pick and choose from a library of over 100 games.

That library is being constantly updated too, with new Xbox One exclusives being added to it on the day they launch.

You also get 20 per cent off purchases and 10 per cent off add-ons for games in the library while you’re a subscriber, so if you end your subscription or find out a game you love is being taken off the service you can carry on playing.

If you’re a fan of Game Pass, expect more services like it to come. Microsoft’s project xCloud and the rumoured plans for a streaming Xbox One and the focus for the Xbox Two all suggest moves in that direction.
