Slightly Mad Studios has gone ahead and announced something, well, slightly mad.
The company behind the hit Project Cars series is now venturing into the console market with their very own ‘Mad Box’.
Although, if these concept pictures are anything to go by, it won’t be anywhere near as good looking as their stunning racer.
Announced by CEO of Slightly Mad Studios, Ian Bell, just a few weeks back, the ambitious console hopes to compete with the next-generation of PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
The Mad Box will supposedly port 4K gaming, virtual reality capabilities as well as providing a free game-engine for developers to use.
Bell has been tweeting about the console ever since it was first announced – revealing some interesting concept photos for both the console and the controller.
With a touch screen on both the face of the console and the controller, it looks as though we could be in for a hefty price tag.
One cool feature about the Mad Box controller is the extra paddles on the back which allow for more dexterity and versatility when playing your favourite games.
With the Xbox and PlayStation, you would typically have to pay a premium price for a product like this.
As Slightly Mad has its sights on competing with Sony and Microsoft, they”ll need to get their act together fast, as the next generation of consoles could arrive as soon as next year!
Are you excited? You’d be mad not to be.
