Building the strongest FIFA 19 Ultimate Team can be pretty tough – especially if you don’t have many coins to spare.
Thankfully, some of the world’s best players just had thousands wiped off their value – and can be snapped up for next to nothing.
Let’s take a look at some of the best buys right now.
Franck Ribery – down 10% on PS4
The Bayern Munich star has seen his value drop around 10 per cent on PS4.
Despite being 35, the Frenchman is still a very, very capable player.
He’s got decent pace (78) but it’s his passing and vision stats that elevate the 85-rated winger.
With a stunning 88 dribbling, he’s still incredibly dangerous with the ball at his feet.
Lucas Moura – down 15% on PS4
The Tottenham star is one of the most dangerous players on the game, and can be picked up absolutely nothing.
With an incredible 92 pace and 85 dribbling, he’s perfect if you’re lacking cuttig edge on the flanks.
He’s let down by his 74 shooting and his 59 physical means he’ll get pushed off the ball – but for sheer pace, he can’t be beaten at this price.
Thomas Muller – down 10% on PS4
The Bayern Munich striker is still quite pricey but if you want him in your team, now’s the time.
He’s not that quick out of the blocks, but his 83 shooting and 80 passing make him a threat in attack.
He’s got 93 positioning, which makes up for a lack of natural flair. Perfect if you’re after a poacher.
Paulinho – down 10% on Xbox
The Barca man enjoyed a great season last year but was loaned to China this campaign.
Still, he’s a decent player to have in any squad – and is capable of breaking down nearly every attack.
With 84 physicality and 92 stamina, the CDM is great for those lacking strength in the midfield.
He’s very capable in attack, too – with 81 dribbling and 81 shooting. For around 6,000 coins, the Brazilian represents incredible value.
David Silva – down 3% on Xbox
The Man City ace is still on the expensive side, but he’s dropped in value ever so slightly.
Not fast at all, but one of the best players on the game when it comes to passing and dribbling.
Great for those struggling to unlock defences or in need of more creative flair.
Pair him with a more physical player in midfield to get the best out of him.
David De Gea – down 10% on Xbox
OK, he’s not been in his best form, but De Gea is still one of the best keepers in the game.
At 160,000 coins the Spaniard is still very expensive, but he’s lost a huge amount of value over the past few days.
One of the most acrobatic keepers on the game – backed up with 94 reflexes.
In other news, FIFA 19 managed to hold off Red Dead Redemption to remain the biggest week one release of the year.
Rockstar’s Western epic still managed a very respectable second place – and will likely continue to sell strongly in the run-up to Christmas.
There are two factors to note. The first is that these are just physical sales – many would have opted to download the digital version of the game.
Secondly, Rockstar will be releasing the online part of the game next month – so some may be waiting for this before making a purchase.
However, RDR2 sales pale in comparison to GTA V’s launch week.
The Western achieved 60 per cent of the market share this week – compared to an enormous 89 per cent for GTA.
FIFA 19 achieved a market share of 75 per cent while Black Ops 4 bagged a 44 per cent stake.
