As we come up to the halfway point of Season 5 we can start to expect some dramatic changes to occur.
Not only to the map… but to the Sky.
That’s right, the rifts that are scattered across the season 5 map don’t just give you an escape route from the storm.
Fortnite data miners believed they have discovered the date that the rifts will start to shrink.
With the rifts shrinking players have speculated whether ‘the traveller’ who has been previously mentioned by Epic games will be making an appearance in Season 6.
The rocket launch in Season 4 of Fortnite started a few weeks prior to Season 6, so the timing is pretty spot on.
Players will have to keep their eyes to the sky on August 21st if they don’t want to be caught unawares.
Could the whole map shrink?
After the drastic changes made both in Season 4 and Season 5 of Fortnite would anyone be surprised?
Developer Epic Games will arguably do something drastic in Season 6.
What better way to do this than to introduce a totally new map, alongside updating the original map we all know and love.
Fans of the popular battle royale title have been speculating as to whether the next map will be five times smaller.
This is due to a number of factors:
- Epic games focus on esports and build battles, primarily focusing on Tilted Towers
- Hints that the starting island could become it’s own mini battle arena for players
- Other battle royale titles have taken similar approaches when launching different maps
PUBG’s new map
PUBG’s brand spanking new smaller map Sanhok was a huge hit with players and pundits alike after it’s release last month.
The map was a lot smaller than the original Alpha PUBG map Erangel and is popular due to there being fewer people and quicker games.
