Remaster this, remaster that, it seems developers are remastering every popular game these days.
With the likes of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Crash Bandicoot recently getting a remaster, fans of the original Spyro trilogy went crazy when Activision announced a remastered edition would be coming out in autumn of 2018.
However, there are still plenty of classic titles that aren’t feeling the love and deserve a remaster.
Here are the seven games most in need of a refreshment:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Although not the best selling Call of Duty of all time, it holds a special place in the hearts of long-time COD fans.
Following Infinity Ward’s remaster of COD 4, it makes sense that they would be looking to remaster the popular MW2 title alongside their next game.
Fans may only have to wait until October 2019 because Infinity Ward will be back in the driving seat.

FIFA Street
Fans of the series have been asking for a new FIFA Street for years. However, EA has ignored their calls.
It has been four years now since the last FIFA Street game and if EA doesn’t release a new version they should meet fans in the middle and remaster the game or add it as a new mode in FIFA 19.
The emphasis on skill and smaller teams was a huge draw for FIFA Street. It would be a serious shame if EA didn’t do anything with the title.
Syphon Filter
A hugely popular series that had a long life on the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP.
The series mixed stealth and puzzle mechanics together into the first ‘super-spy’ game all from a third-person perspective.
A sequel hasn’t been released since 2007, so it would be great if Sony remastered the original trilogy for the PS4 not dissimilar to what they did with Spyro.
Black
This 2006 FPS shoot-em-up was iconic in its own ways.
With a heavy emphasis on epic cinematic visuals, gunplay and explosive effects, Black was a precursor to the FPS games we all own today.
It would be amazing to see up to date graphics, a revitalised soundtrack and 4K cinematic scenes in Black.
We would certainly pick up a copy… or two.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
The title that for a lot of people defined what a Star Wars game should be.
It also introduced thousands of people to a whole new era of the Star Wars universe that had previously been untouched.
Star Wars: KOTOR needs to be remastered and preferably for the Nintendo Switch as that way the game can be played anywhere.
A version has been released on IOS and Android, but it’s just not good enough.
Silent Hill series
Arguably the greatest survival horror series in history.
The first four Silent Hill games were developed and published by Konami between 1999 and 2004.
All four of the games deserve to be remastered so that this generation can experience the true horror that led a whole genre of games.
You might want to keep the lights on and only play them during the day though. It can get pretty creepy…
Skate
It’s been 11 years since the original Skate was released.
During the Xbox E3 conference this year, fans were left gobsmacked when they found out the new skateboard game was titled ‘Sessions’ and not ‘Skate 4’.
It’s definitely time to give the fans what they want… a remastered version of the original Skate for the Xbox One and PS4.
