FIFA 18 may have been out for a few months but there’s still plenty of fun to be had – especially on Career Mode.
YouTuber TheMasterBucks decided to find out how quickly you can get fired – with interesting results.
PLAY DREAM TEAM WEEKENDER Pick seven players to win £5k!
Firstly, to ensure the Bayern Munich board could see he had no idea what he was doing, he switched a load of players around.
This included putting Franck Ribery in goal – and playing a back four comprised of goalkeepers.
Sadly, the game only allowed him to release two stars – so he then went on a transfer spree, putting requests in for every single first-team player.
Oh, and he also hired the worst scout on the game.
Surely the board would begin to get worried?
The season then kicks off – and Bayern lose their first match against Real Madrid.
Amazingly, it took until the 85th minute for Real to get the winner. Maybe Ribery is decent in goal, after all?
Another loss follows – this time a heavy 4-1 defeat against Brisbane. Soon after, Bayern lose to Al Hilal.
Some offers start popping up for some of his players, including a £31m offer for Kingsley Coman from Everton.
However despite taking the money, the YouTuber lets him go for just £10.
He then flogs a load more players for pennies.
Even though he’s tearing the club to pieces, the board showed no signs of nervousness, even emailing to confirm the Coman sale.
This pattern continued as more and more players were sold.
More losses pass and, two months into the job, the board are still happy with their manager.
Not only that, but the manager rating is 80 – is the board living on a different planet?
More drastic action needed to be taken, and Bucks then forfeited his next game.
Having sold pretty much all of his reserves, he went on to lose a load more games – including a 6-1 hammering by Hoffenheim.
At this point, should any of his players get injured, there would be next-to-no-one available to replace them.
Conveniently, no players get injured – so Bucks then adjusts the sliders to maximise injury frequency and severity.
As expected, a load of players get injured and he then forfeits the game.
With an injury list a mile long, Bayern can no longer field a full team. Surely the board have had enough by now?
Not quite yet.
Despite trashing the club beyond repair, the board email to say the position is under scrutiny – but there’s no sign of the axe.
The manager’s rating is now below 50.
Come late November, the board still haven’t fired the manager – despite forfeited games and losses mounting up.
Then, the email arrives.
It may have taken 143 days but the board finally have enough and sack the manager.
So, there you have it.
It’ll take about four months to get sacked on Career Mode.
