Fed up of packing worthless bronze cards? Then you may be in luck.
Gamers on the FIFA 18 sub-reddit spotted a code in the game that appears to show guaranteed baby Icons (the lowest-rated versions of the cards) and Team of the Week cards could be coming to FUT packs.
Although the code cannot be verified, hundreds of players are already selling their Icon cards as their value will plummet if the code comes to fruition.
It’s not sure yet how the promotion, if true, will roll out – but some believe an SBC may be the most likely way.
As a reward, the player would get either a lower-rated Icon or a player from TOTW 1 to TOTW 26 – although there has been no word yet on the requirements.
Some worry the influx of baby Icons will cause the market to crash. One gamer simply wrote: “RIP TO THE MARKET.”
The news comes as the St Patrick’s Day promotion fast approaches.
Last year a number Republic of Ireland players were handed a new green card design – boasting exactly the same stats.
These were available in both packs and via SBCs, which kicked off around St Patrick’s Day (March 17).
The SBCs gave players the chance to bag a large amount of coins – centered around the ‘luck of the Irish’ concept.
There were different tiers – the higher the tier, the larger the potential prize pot.
The challenges themselves required Republic of Ireland players and/or one of the special green Irish player cards.

So, how can I prepare?
Right now, the hype has already building – meaning it’ll be tough to pick up Republic of Ireland players for fewer than 1,000 coins. However, you still may get lucky.
At peak time, people will pay up to six times the amount to bag an Irish player.
So if you have lots on your books and aren’t too fussed about the SBCs, it could be a great time to sell – prices will likely fall immediately after the event.
Northern Ireland also celebrates the event – and if it these come up as a requirement, it’s game on.
They cost very little and could well be a good investment if you’re struggling to find any RoI stars.

For everyone asking what the requirements for an icon SBC might be, it doesn’t actually say that there will be an SBC for a guaranteed icon.
What if it’s the reward for completing all the daily SBCs like last year? I feel like having premium SBC’s, 81+ OVR SBC’s, TOTW SBC’s, League SBC’s etc will be a bit overkill let alone with an icon SBC chucked in there too.
