We’ve all been there… sprinted clear through on goal and then ‘skied’ it into the stands.
But just how high can the ball go on FIFA 18?
YouTuber DTT decided to find out – with incredible results.
To pull of the experiment, he got players to hoof the ball vertically and then time how long it would stay in the air for.
The first attempt led to the ball being airborne for around four seconds… not bad.
He then tried it with sliders at max, but this made no real difference to the time – the ball clocking a measly 1 millisecond more air-time.
In fact, kicking the ball wasn’t the best way to achieve height.
It turned out it went highest during a collision between two players – with the pressure of the crash causing it to rocket out of the stadium.
In doing so, you’re able to clock a load of details you’d never usually see.
Mountains, lakes and forests can be seen surrounding the stadium – although they’re not particularly well rendered.
So, there you have it.
Turns the the ball can go incredibly high – but you’ll only get to do that via a collision with another player, rather than an out-and-out kick.
If you’re bored, why not give it a try yourself.
