A FIFA 18 video appearing to show Ultimate Team Icons in Career Mode has made its way online.
The footage, uploaded on YouTube by DTT, shows a number of Icons, including Ronaldo and R. Gullit, appearing in Career Mode menus.
It later shows clips of various stars, including Patrick Viera, taking part in transfer negotiations.
There’s been no official word from EA as to whether this feature is legitimate or not, but we’re sure it wold be welcomed if this was the case.
The footage is likely a result of a mod from the FIFA 18 PC community.
Mods work by changing in-game files, drastically altering key things about the game.
With a few tweaks you’re able to change players’ appearances and even tweak core gameplay mechanisms.
Earlier in the year, modders ‘unofficially’ made Ronaldo a manager in Career Mode.
They created a file for the PC version of the game that, once downloaded, reskins the default avatars with the Brazilian.
Tons of new FIFA 18 files have also made their way on to Modding Way – allowing gamers to play Career Mode as Jose Mourinho, Zinedine Zidane, Jurgen Klopp and many more.
Instead of the random avatar, these new ‘re-skinned’ models take their place in the transfer negotiations and cutscenes – allowing for much more realistic experience.
The downside is a lot of these mods only work on the PC version of the game – so those playing on PS4 and Xbox One will still be stuck with the random avatars.
