FIFA 18: Cristiano Ronaldo faces his rating getting DOWNGRADED by EA Sports

The Ratings Refresh period is fast approaching

Things have not been going well for Cristiano Ronaldo lately.

The struggling Real Madrid ace has endured one of the worst La Liga seasons of his career – netting just one in the last eight games.

But it could get a lot worse for the FIFA 18 cover star – especially if his form doesn’t drastically improve.

The EA Sports Ratings Refresh happens at the start of next year – February, to be exact – and sees player’s form dictate their ratings on FIFA 18.

FIFA 18 will see a Ratings refresh period take place in February – and Ronaldo could get downgraded

If a player is performing well, they’ll be in line for a boost. If they’re struggling, their ratings take a knock – which is bad news for the misfiring Los Blancos star.

The updated ratings will apply to new base items that are found in packs, while some existing In-Form versions of select players will be automatically updated, too.

Ronaldo is currently one of the best players in the game – with a 94 rating. But already, there are some stats that are coming under scrutiny.

The Portuguese boasts 90 pace, yet lost a footrace against veteran Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran a few days back.

His shooting and awareness are below par, too. He’s scored from just one of his 55 shots on goal – the worst conversation rate of any goalscorer in Europe.

The 32-year-old’s passing accuracy is at 79%, so his current rating of 82 in that attribute seems generous.

Dare we say it, but he looks like a player who’s lacking confidence.

EA Sports use these stats, figures and performances to calculate whether a player is in line for a Ratings Refresh – so unless Ronaldo starts improving, he could well find himself in the firing line.

Whether or not his contract with EA Sports prohibits his rating to get downgraded – he is the cover star after all – is a mystery. But even his biggest fans would argue he’s been especially poor.

Let’s hope Ronaldo ups his game before it’s too late.
