It’s time to get excited, folks.
Football Manager 2018 is nearly here, with Sport Interactive’s latest release set to drop November 10.
We know, we know.
Another new game.
We’ve already seen plenty about the new ‘Dynamics’ system, which focuses further on the happiness and harmony of your squad over three key areas: Team Cohesion, Dressing Room Atmosphere, and Managerial Support.
And as we get steadily closer to the release date, the folks over at Football Manager have been gradually releasing new information via ‘FMTV’ stylised videos.
Football Manager 2018: New Scouting System
One of the key changes to this year’s game is the overhaul of the scouting system.
Data analysts look set to play a major role in how you go about player recruitment (much like in real-life football management).
Their role is to look at specific players and follow statistical trends over a season to see if they could add something new to your team.
As we all know, stats have become increasingly important in football, so we think this could be a great new feature to the game.
Check out this video below.
Scouting really is huge this year.
For the first time, you can upgrade facilities and purchase ‘packages’ that cover local, national or continental leagues.
Of course, your packages will be heavily determined on how wealthy your club is and how much budget you put into scouting.
We’re also eager to look at the new scout rating score system.
The old star rating system is gone; replaced with a more accurate score out of 100.
Unlike the star system, this will fluctuate more regularly as your scouts gain more knowledge about a player.
Your scouting ‘focus’ can also be changed, which will go further towards helping you find players in a more broad range of categories, focusing further on the details.
Alternatively, you can opt for a more ‘short term’ option, which is much more immediate and specific – perfect for those quick-fix signings you need just before the transfer deadline.
Philippe Coutinho or Henrikh Mkhitaryan? Why not both?
That’s the beauty of Dream Team Weekender – there are no budget limitations so you can pick any player available from this weekend’s fixtures.
That means you don’t have to worry about only picking one star playmaker when Liverpool and Manchester United lock horns in the tastiest game of the season so far on Saturday.
Weekender is the best new fantasy football game around and it’s absolutely free to enter.
Just select seven players from across the Saturday and Sunday Premier League fixtures for your chance to bag that increased £20k prize this weekend.
Flopped so far this season? It doesn’t matter, as Weekender allows you to start afresh every single weekend. Let the games begin – sign up to play here!
