FIFA 18: EA Sports change a player’s rating after backlash from fans

Ronaldo's rating has been upgraded from a 94 to a 96 while his skill moves have also been given a boost

Anyone who had the pleasure of seeing Ronaldo play will know just how skillful a player he was.

So it was a bit of a surprise when EA Sports handed O Phenomeno a skill moves rating of four out of five.

The move caused plenty of backlash on social media, with many unsure what exactly one of the most skillful players to lace up a pair of boots had to do to get five stars.

Fair play to EA though.

They’ve taken on board the social media slandering constructive criticism and tweaked Ronaldo’s rating.

He’s gone from a 94 overall rating to a 96 overall rating, with several individual attributes seeing an upgrade.

Ronaldo’s pace has gone from 93 to 97, his shooting has gone from 93 to 95, passing from 80 to 81 and dribbling from 93 to 95.

This has meant a slight reduction in defending, but who cares about that?

Most importantly, Ronaldo’s skill moves have been boosted to the full five stars, so you’ll be bamboozling virtual defenders with ease.

Ronaldo’s prayers have been answered

Ronaldo’s prayers have been answered

Ronaldo is one of several high profile icons included on FIFA 18.

He’s joined by Ronaldinho, Diego Maradona, Thierry Henry and Roberto Carlos, among others.

But the man we’re most looking forward to playing with is Jay-Jay Okocha.

All aboard the showboat.
