FIFA 18: Can you get Cristiano Ronaldo to sign for Barcelona on Career Mode?

Anything is possible for the right price, it seems

FIFA 18 is still a week away but we’re already being treated to plenty of new footage.

This time, a clip of Cristiano Ronaldo attempting to sign for Barcelona has made its way on to YouTube, via RBT.

The footage shows the YouTuber try and sign the Real Madrid ace for Barca in the game’s revamped Career Mode – with interesting results.

Let’s see how he does.

Real will only part with Ronaldo if a swap deal is on the table

First off, in the meeting with the manager, Zinedine Zidane, Real are willing to let go of Ronaldo for Gerard Deulofeu plus cash.

That seems fair.

The transfer fee, though, is pretty hefty to say the least.

To bag the Portuguese, it’ll cost more than £120,000,000 – £120,850,000 to be exact.

Once the swap is agreed, there’s then the massive transfer fee to deal with

The manager agrees to the terms and Zidane’s a happy man.

Stage one complete. Now it’s on to the agent.

Straight off the bat, Ronaldo and his bald representative are after a three-year deal – great news, as that’s what Barca are offering.

But then it starts getting ridiculous.

They first ensure a release clause of £237,800,000 is included in the deal, before demanding almost £500,000 a week, a signing bonus of £6,800,000 and an extra 10,300,000 Euros after 20 appearances.

Still, the manager agrees to all of those terms and, voila, Ronaldo is his.

A nice touch from EA is that they assess negotiating performance in the form of a news letter.

In the end, it is possible to sign Ronaldo – but it will cost a fortune

In this case, they criticise Real Madrid for opting for Deulofeu, saying “it’s not clear where the player fits into the plans”.

Bad move, Zidane!
