Adebayo Akinfenwa has pretty much carved a neat career for himself as being the strongest player in world football.
‘The Beast’ has managed to become a hugely popular figure in football, despite being something of a journeyman striker in the lower leagues of English football.
However, the Wycombe Wanderers’ striker’s career virtually hinges on one thing – whether or not he’s officially the strongest player on FIFA.
Don’t get us wrong, Akinfenwa can play a bit, and had his joint best season in front of goal last campaign.
But is he the strongest player on FIFA 18? Former Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand was tasked with delivering the news to The Beast.
- FIFA 18: Benjamin Mendy trolls EA SPORTS and kicks off over his FIFA 18 rating
- FIFA 18: This is what happens when you try to sign Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in Career Mode
So the good news is that Akinfenwa remains the strongest player on FIFA 18, with an incredible strength rating of 98.
However, the Wycombe man wasn’t entirely happy with his scores, having dropped three points in dribbling and keeping the same card score as last year.
So despite scoring 18 goals in 51 games, EA Sports has handed him virtually the same card as in the last game, and Akinfenwa had some words to say about the matter.
He said: “You’re not gonna give me the same card off the back of my best season!
“I ain’t trying to attack the powers that be, but best believe I’m attacking you – how do you work that out?
“So 18 goals last season, fifty odd games, and you downgrade me? Where’s the respect?”
It’d be a brave man at EA Sports to have to stand up to Akinfenwa when he starts banging on the door of their ratings office – we’re just glad it’s not us.
