EA Sports has come under fire after fans noticed a number of high-profile stadiums have been omitted from FIFA 18.
The Vancouver-based development team revealed the full list at the end of last week – but it wasn’t long before gamers noticed a few omissions.
Due to licensing issues and the fact that PES maker Konami has aggressively bought up a load more this year, La Liga contains just two licensed stadiums in FIFA 18.
And there’s just five official stadiums in the Bundesliga.
Other notable omissions include Celtic Park, De Kuip, Philips Stadion, Millennium Stadium, St. Jakob Park and Estádio do Dragão.
One fan wrote on Futhead: “The lack of stadiums is seriously frustrating.
“For those of us who want to do Career Modes outside of the PL it’s pretty annoying how every stadium is basically identical.
“I wish EA would add a stadium editor/creator, but sadly there’s nothing profitable about more customisation.”
It’s not all bad news, though.
There are four new licensed stadiums added to the roster.
These include Atlético Madrid’s new home – the 60,000 capacity Wanda Metropolitano and the impressive StubHub Center, home of LA Galaxy.
Elsewhere, Premier League new boys Huddersfield’s Kirklees Stadium and Brighton’s Amex Stadium also make the cut.
The final game, which launches on September 29, will include 75 stadiums, including 50 fully-licensed grounds from all over the world.
But keen fans won’t need to wait until then to play the game.
The FIFA 18 demo will arrive on September 15 – two weeks before launch.
The FIFA 17 demo dropped on September 13, with the full game arriving on September 27.
FIFA 16 followed the same pattern, with the demo arriving on September 8 and the game released on the 22nd.
How can I download it?
The demo will appear in Origin, PS Store and Xbox Live. It’ll be ‘Featured’ so should be easy to find.
If there are any issues, use the ‘search’ function and type in ‘FIFA 18 demo‘.
Once you find it, click ‘download’ and it’ll begin the process.
How long will it take to download?
The servers will be under strain given just how many people will be downloading it, so the earlier, the better.
To give yourself the best possible chance, make sure to connect your console to an Ethernet cable. You’ll see slightly faster speeds.
So, what’s in the demo?
If it’s the same build EA have been showing off at their preview events, you’ll be able to play as a number of teams including Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, PSG and Juventus.
Here’s the full line up:
- Manchester City
- Manchester United
- Real Madrid
- Atletico Madrid
- Bayern Munich
- LA Galaxy
- Toronto FC
You’ll also likely be able to play through the first part of The Journey: Hunter Returns – although we wouldn’t doing that unless you’ve played the first one.
No sweat, here’s what happens at the end of The Journey – if you won’t have time to play through it.
