When creating a killer football game, it’s all about the little details.
Thankfully, FIFA 18 developers EA Sports has gone to town to ensure that it’s the most realistic football game around.
But there’s one little detail that fans will be thrilled to see included – specifically relating to Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebration.
When you score with the Portuguese, you’ll know him him say ‘Siiiiiiiim’ whilst performing his iconic celebration.
Not only that, but the crowd will then echo it, too.
‘Sim’ means yes in Portuguese – and is exclaimed by the Real Madrid star every time he nets a goal.
The good news for FIFA 18 fans is that you won’t need to wait until the September 29 launch to have a go on the game.
If previous years are anything to go by, the FIFA 18 demo will arrive around September 15 – a massive two weeks before launch.
The FIFA 17 demo dropped on September 13, with the full game arriving on September 27. FIFA 16 followed the same pattern, with the demo arriving on September 8 and the game released on the 22nd.
How can I download it?
The demo will appear in Origin, PS Store and Xbox Live. It’ll be ‘Featured’ so should be easy to find.
How long will it take to download?
We don’t know how big the file will be but make sure to download it as soon as it’s released.
The servers will be under strain given just how many people will be downloading it, so the earlier, the better.
So, what’s in the demo?
If it’s the same build EA have been showing off at their preview events, you’ll be able to play as a number of teams including Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, PSG and Juventus.
Here’s the full line up:
- Manchester City
- Manchester United
- Real Madrid
- Atletico Madrid
- Bayern Munich
- LA Galaxy
- Toronto FC
You’ll also likely be able to play through the first part of The Journey: Hunter Returns – although we wouldn’t doing that unless you’ve played the first one.
No sweat, here’s what happens at the end of The Journey – if you won’t have time to play through it.
Is there absolutely no way I’ll be able to play FIFA 18 earlier?
If you’re lucky, then yes.
Sadly, for most gamers looking to get their hands on FIFA 18 early in the form of the beta – you’re going to have to wait a little longer.
EA has overhauled the way its allowing access this year – so rather than casting the net far and wide, only specially selected players by EA Sports are going to get a chance to play it early.
That means if you haven’t heard yet, then you’re unlikely to have made the cut.
“We only have enough codes for the players that we sent emails to. If you didn’t get an email with a code, our Advisors won’t be able to give you one, nor do we have any available on the forums.”
For those who can’t get their hands on the closed beta then you’ll have to wait for the demo, which drops a few weeks later.
Who will be the best player on the demo?
The best player on the demo will be FIFA 18 cover star Cristiano Ronaldo – although his rating on the preview build was TBC.
So, what did you think of it when you had a go?
We’re very impressed – it’s slower than FIFA 17 but that’s no bad thing. Plus, it looks spectacular – especially on PS4 Pro.
