FIFA 18 developer EA is getting torn to shreds after posting footage of the new improved crowds and stadium effects.
The clip shows off a host of ‘new’ features making their way on to this year’s game.
Firstly, crowds have been drastically improved – with models boasting far more detail and a more varied animation repertoire.
There’s even a celebration that sees some run down the stands and greet you by the pitch-side hoardings.
Elsewhere, new pitch-side elements, which include an ambulance and a large can (woohoo) are on show. Not to mention ‘on-pitch’ graphics that show the club’s emblems.
In fairness, it’s all very impressive.
But if EA were looking for a pat on the back, then they would have been a tiny bit disappointed.
Whilst some fans were impressed, others savagely trolled the developer on Twitter – essentially saying focus should have been on the gameplay.
Take a look at some of these.
It’s not all bad news, though.
Earlier in the week, FIFA 18 Career Mode footage found its way online – and it’s looking absolutely spectacular.
The short clip shows a complete overhaul of the popular mode in FIFA 18, which now includes The Journey-style player choice and dialogue.
One of the biggest changes is the addition of interactive transfer negotiations.
This allows you to take part in real-time transfer negotiations with other club reps and agents.
The entire mode has been a visual overhaul – with screens showing off new player signings.
The changes come after thousands of fans pleaded with EA to give the mode some more attention after it fell by the wayside in FIFA 17.
The FIFA 18 developer is planning to unveil a huge Ultimate Team showcase at this month’s Gamescom expo in Cologne.
“Ordinary we don’t announce much about Ultimate Team around this time because we’re in the run up to Gamescom – that’s our big FUT showcase,” EA producer Matt Prior said.
Gamescom is Europe’s largest gaming convention and takes place between August 22-26.
