FIFA 18 fans are kicking off over Marco Asensio’s pace score – claiming EA made him too slow in FIFA 17.
The Spaniard, 21, who has been on fire for Real Madrid, only has 74 sprint speed and 83 acceleration in last year’s game.
But fans cite a number of clips that show this is far too low – and want it increased in FIFA 18.
Just take a look at the one below, in which he scores the leveller against Barca – effortlessly thrashing Aleix Vidal, who has 93 sprint speed, in the process.
One fan wrote on the FIFA sub-Reddit: “Marco has 74 sprint speed 83 acceleration in FIFA 17. Vidal has 93 sprint speed and 89 acceleration in FIFA 17.
“Please, EA, don’t make him a 70odd pace winger and kill my dreams.”
Another said: “He’s burning him with the ball at his feet while Vidal is flat out sprinting to keep up.”
It’s likely a lot of player ratings are already locked in stone – but, as per last year, these could change throughout next season to take into account form.
After the FIFA 18 cover announcement in June, little more has been revealed about the upcoming game – which is due to hit shelves on September 29.
EA is, however, planning a huge Ultimate Team showcase at next month’s Gamescom expo in Cologne.
“Ordinary we don’t announce much about Ultimate Team around this time because we’re in the run up to Gamescom – that’s our big FUT showcase,” EA producer Matt Prior said.
Gamescom is Europe’s largest gaming convention and takes place between August 22-26.
