FIFA 18: Is Dele Alli the co star in The Journey: Hunter Returns?

The Tottenham ace's latest social media posts have got FIFA fans talking

Dele Alli may be co-starring in FIFA 18’s The Journey, some recent social media posts suggest.

The Spurs ace, 21, got fans talking after posting a series of pictures on Twitter that showed him being filmed for FIFA 18 developer EA.

One of the posts read: “Great day shooting with @EASPORTSFIFA”.

Earlier that day he also posted: “Meeting @EASPORTSFIFA to discuss my #FIFA18 ratings, what do you guys think?”

But here’s where it gets even more intriguing.

Last month, Alli was seen pictured in a luxury pad in Los Angeles – only it looked remarkably similar to a location Hunter is pictured in one of the FIFA 18 screenshots.

We know that Hunter will be spending his pre-season out in the States – and that he plays for Chelsea, at least at the start of the game, so it’s not yet clear how Alli would feature.

The activity follows a move from EA to create Alex Hunter on Twitter, which has led to some interesting results.

We’re almost certain Alli has been hanging around the same areas as Hunter – but the role he’ll play is yet unknown

The account, @MrAlexHunter, was started by EA as a means of ramping up PR ahead of the launch of FIFA 18 in September.

As part of the activity, Alli sent this really convincing tweet to the fictional star – which was promptly torn to shreds by lots of fans.

It’s safe to say people weren’t buying it.

Thankfully, the cringe-worthy ‘Alex Hunter’ account isn’t the only option for you to keep track of the star’s movements.

The actor who plays him, Edun Adetomi also tweets about the game from his @adetomiwaedun handle – and it’s slightly less contrived.

There’s also this brilliant parody account, @AHunter29_FIFA.

Here’s one of our favourite tweets:

Now, it hasn’t been updated in some time but we bet it’ll kick into life again when The Journey: Hunter Returns arrives later this year.

Here’s hoping, anyway!
