No player has scored more goals in the history of the UEFA Cup/Europa League than Henrik Larsson.
The talented Swede, who played for the likes of Celtic, Barcelona and a had brief stint at Manchester United, scored goals in five major tournaments and had an international career spanning 16 years.
Arguably, Larsson arrived at Manchester United slightly past his best years – although he was still better than most.
But what would happen if he played in the Premier League at his peak?
YouTuber Rich Leigh used FIFA 17 Career Mode to find out – first creating the Swede then plonking him into a Celtic side that, somehow, found their way into the Prem.
So, how did he get on?
Well, at the end of the season, Celtic are languishing in 15th place – dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Celtic managed to score 42 goals – 30 fewer than Chelsea.
Sadly, Larsson didn’t make it on to the top scorers list but another Henrikh – Mkhitaryan – ended up netting the most.
But it’s not all bad news.
Larsson did find his way on to the most assist list – bagging eight.
So, there you have it.
If Larsson was playing in the Prem at his peak, according to FIFA he’d have a bit of a tough time.
Although something tells us in reality things would be very, very different.
