Could a team of cheap young stars beat the world’s cream of the crop?
YouTuber BMOnus decided to find out – and created a team of £100million players and a team of XI young stars, each valued at around £5m.
The £100m team includes the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Paul Pogba – so it’s pretty impressive.
The youngsters, meanwhile, boast Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz, Argentinean Ezequiel Barco and Hungary international Ádám Nagy.
So, what team does better?
To find out, he simmed the season with the two teams, with the winner finishing highest in the table.
First off, it’s the expensive lot. Surely they breezed through, right?
In fact, the team of all stars could only manage second place – with Arsenal taking the top spot.
That didn’t stop Ronaldo becoming the league’s top scorer with 22 goals.
So, how did the cheaper team do?
Against all odds, the youngsters end the season at the top of league.
Even more incredible is that not one of the Manchester United players made it on to the top 15 goal scorers – meaning they were all banging them in.
Keep an eye out for Barco – he ended the season with 99 finishing, so he’ll be one for the future.
So, there you have it.
A team made up of £5m players will offer much more bang for your buck than a XI consisting of £100m superstars – according to FIFA, anyway.
