FIFA 17: Who would win the Golden Boot if all top goal scorers played in League 2?

Would Lionel Messi still come out on top? Or would someone else prove more deadly?

Lionel Messi scored an incredible amount of goals last season – and scooped the La Liga Golden Boot and European Golden Shoe.

The latter recognises a player who scores the most goals out of all of Europe’s top divisions – pretty incredible, really.

He had some tough competition, though, from the likes of Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Edin Dzeko and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

So, what would happen if you put all the best goalscorers in League 2? Would Messi still come out on top? Or would someone else prove more deadly?

YouTuber Barfieboy decided to find out using FIFA 17’s Career Mode.

He first picked the top 25 players based on Golden Shoe ranking and plonked them all in different teams. He then simmed the season to see who scored the most goals.

Let’s take a look.

Aubameyang tops the list, closely followed by Edinson Cavani – but Ronaldo and Messi are nowhere to be seen

Aubameyang proved a wonderful signing for Barnet and topped the list with 22 goals.

Edinson Cavani did well for Stevenage with 21, while Dzeko was outstanding for Blackpool with 20.

Alexis Sanchez, who’s currently linked with a move away from Arsenal, may want to join Newport County after he netted 20 goals.

Gonzalo Higuain did well to get 19 while Luis Suarez puts in a shift for Yeovil Town.

Cheltenham Town’s Robert Lewandowski ended the season with a decent 17.

Amazingly, Messi or Ronaldo are nowhere to be seen.

So, there you have it.

If all the world’s top scorers played in League 2, Aubameyang  would win the Golden Boot.
