French football has enjoyed something of a revival this season.
After the dominance in recent years of Paris Saint-Germain, many thought the departures of big characters such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Luiz would make Ligue Un slightly irrelevant.
However, what’s happened has been anything but. AS Monaco swept to victory in France’s top tier, while Leonardo Jardim’s men also got through to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
And following the season’s end, EA Sports have handsomely rewarded the players in Ligue Un with their Team of the Season (TOTS) cards.
Released as part of FIFA 17’s TOTS series, the following players have been given a much deserved upgrade.
The usual suspects of Thiago Silva sees their rating upgraded to a healthy 95, while Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani sees his shooting rise to 99 in his 95 overall card.
But the praise has to be reserved for those Monaco players who earned themselves a surprise title triumph.
Radamel Falcao and Bernardo Silva both rise to 92 rated, but this season’s breakthrough player, Kylian Mbappe, has seen his rating rise from 71 at the start of the season to 89 at the end of the year.
It’s been an incredible rise for the young Frenchman, and he thoroughly deserves his place in the TOTS cards.
