Pele, George Best, Bobby Moore. All legends of the game.
But what would happen if we wound back the clocks and they were all still playing today?
Would Dennis Bergkamp still be able to unlock defences? Would Pele dribble through an entire team?
YouTuber FNG decided to find out on FIFA 17 Career Mode.
To do this, he created each player – copying their attributes from their Ultimate Team cards.
He then simmed to the end of a few seasons and tracked each player’s performance to see how they got on.
Surprisingly, only one of the players made it into the Premier League’s 25 top scorers in season one… Bergkamp.
The Dutchman netted a respectable 10 goals – putting him in 16th place.
In the Champions League, George Weah managed to score four goals – one more than Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
In season two, George Best and Bergkamp found their way on to the top scorers list – netting 12 Premier League goals apiece.
The former went on to get the third best number of assists with eight, while Bergkamp was ranked 22nd with five.
In the Champions League, Marco Van Basten got 13th place for assists with five, while Best and Weah both netted four goals.
In the third season, Pele had an incredible campaign – netting 17 Premier League goals.
Best occupied fourth spot in the top scorers in the Champions League, with seven – while Weah was in 15th with five.
In season four Pele was at it again.
The Brazilian netted 15 league goals, Bergkamp scored 14 while Best bagged a respectable 12.
In the Champions league, Van Basten got three assists, while Weah bagged three.
Pele netted seven Champions League goals – more than Cristiano Ronaldo’s four, and that man Weah got six.
So, there you have it.
If Pele, Bergkamp and Weah were playing today in their prime, they’d still be amongst the greatest around.
Not that we needed FIFA to tell us that.
