FIFA 18: What will these players’ ratings be in the game?

We pick out the stars who are set to become even more deadly in EA SPORTS' next football game

FIFA 18 is only a few months away – but there’s already whispers about who the game’s best players will be.

Will cover star Cristiano Ronaldo hold on to the top spot? Or will his old foe Lionel Messi have the edge?

We’ve picked out the players who are almost certain to get a ratings boost in FIFA 18.

Let’s kick off.

9. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang has been in blistering form for Borussia Dortmund and this will be reflected in his FIFA 18 rating.

While his standard FIFA 17 card had a modest 86 rating, we’ll likely see the Gabon international jump up to closer to the 89 mark this year – with abilities not dissimilar to his current Super In Form FUT card.

His standard card goes for around 86,000 coins – but his higher rating will likely see him become more expensive.

8. Robert Lewandowski

In FIFA 17, 28-year-old Lewandowski was one of the highest rated strikers in the game with brilliant 90.

The Bayern Munich forward had a fantastic season, so we fully expect his rating to get a boost – maybe to 91.

His standard FIFA 17 card went for around 38,000 -47,000 coins – which makes him somewhat of a bargain.

7. Eden Hazard

Hazard had a brilliant season with Chelsea boss and was one of the best wingers in FIFA 17 with an impressive 89 score.

We’d expect to see this climb a couple of points to around 91 in FIFA 18.

6. Luka Modric

The Real Madrid ace just gets better and better, so is almost certainly in line for a ratings boost.

The 31-year-old had a decent 89-rated standard card – but this is far too low for someone of his talents.

Expect his rating to be well into the 90s in FIFA 18 – perhaps 93.

5. Luis Suarez

Another consistent performer who just seems to be getting better and better.

The Barcelona sharpshooter’s standard card was a breathtaking 92 – ranking him amongst the best players in the game.

Expect this to rise to 93 – as he’s not quite as well rounded as his Barca teammate, Leo Messi.

4. David De Gea

Manuel Neuer may be FIFA 17’s best goalkeeper, but in FIFA 18 that could well change.

De Gea has been decent for Manchester United – pulling off strings of spectacular saves.

The Spaniard was two points behind Neuer in FIFA 17, with 90 – but expect him to climb to 92 this year.

3. Gareth Bale

The lightning fast Welshman may have struggled with injury, but no one can doubt his class.

Before he picked up the knock, the Real Madrid winger was in blistering form – so a FIFA 18 ratings boost can’t be off the cards.

His score will likely rise from 90 to 92 – ranking him amongst the game’s best.

2. Lionel Messi

Messi has had a brilliant season – and bar a few hiccups, has been one of Barca’s most consistent performers.

There is simply no way that his 93 rating cannot go up – especially given his stunning 98-rated Team of The Year card.

It won’t reach those heights, but a boosted score to 94 should be a dead cert.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo has had an incredible 12 months – topped off by becoming the FIFA 18 cover star.

The Portuguese, 32, is still finding the net at a ridiculous rate and hasn’t lost much of that trademark speed.

He’ll be slightly better than in the last game – beating Messi by one point to score 95.
