FIFA 18: Nintendo Switch FIFA could be very disappointing

FIFA on the Nintendo Switch may not be as good as you’d hope.

It comes as fresh rumours claim the game will be based on the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions.

Eurogamer reporter Tom Phillips told Twitter followers that EA is “testing the waters” with EA’s long-running football series.

“EA is testing the Switch waters with FIFA,” Phillips wrote in the tweet, which has since been deleted. “That’s it for now.

“I’ve heard FIFA Switch is based off of the 360/PS3 versions which still get made.”

While these reports can’t be confirmed, it’s worrying for those who planned to play the game on Nintendo’s new console.

FIFA 17 on PS3 and Xbox 360 left fans hugely disappointed. It didn’t use the Frostbite Engine or include the series’ new single-player story, The Journey.

The Nintendo Switch launches on March 3, priced at £280.

Launch games include Skylanders Imaginators, Just Dance 2017, Super Bomberman R and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
