Injuries and suspensions update ahead of Game Week 27 – Edinson Cavani returns for Manchester derby, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool latest

Dream Team brings you all the latest injury and suspension news ahead of Game Week 27 in one easily digestible dose.

Manchester United welcome back Edinson Cavani (£3m) and Scott McTominay (£2.6m) for Sunday’s derby against Manchester City at the Etihad.

The Uruguayan forward, 35, had been sidelined with a groin strain but manager Ralf Rangnick revealed that he took part in full training on Thursday.

He said: “He is back in training since yesterday, today was his second training session with the team. It looks good. I think he could at least be part of the group for Sunday.”

It’s not such good news for the Premier League leaders, who will be without centre-back Ruben Dias (£4.5m) for between four to six weeks with a hamstring injury. Nathan Ake (£3.2m) is also absent.

Chelsea have two fixtures in six days against Burnley and Norwich, and has confirmed that right-back Reece James (£5.7m) is fit and available for selection.

Hakim Ziyech (£4.3m), Thiago Silva (£5.5m) and Trevoh Chalobah (£3.6m) have also recovered from minor issues, but Cesar Azpilicueta (£6m) has been ruled out of the trip to Turf Moor.

Thomas Tuchel said: “Azpi was not in training yesterday so this will be a bit too close unfortunately for him.

“Reece James was training yesterday, so far no problems, no reactions after his two matches. Hakim Ziyech was in training, seemed good, so hopefully, he can come back.”

Mikel Arteta boasts nearly a full compliment for Sunday’s clash at Vicarage Road with only Takehiro Tomiyasu (£2.6m) unavailable. Midfielder Emile Smith Rowe (£3.9m) is back in training and could start.

Watford’s Roy Hodgson has a major absentee in Ismaila Sarr (£2.4m), who’s picked up a hamstring injury and could be sidelined for three weeks.

Liverpool defender Joel Matip (£5m) has a non-Covid illness that has ruled him out of Saturday evening’s clash with West Ham at Anfield. Thiago (£2.5m), Roberto Firmino (£3.6m) and Naby Keita (£1.6m) will also not feature, but Curtis Jones (£2.2m) has a slim chance.

Tomas Soucek (£3.1m) required stitches in his head after a challenge from Southampton’s Ibrahima Diallo (£1.5m) in their FA Cup bout, but does have a chance of playing.

Frank Lampard could call upon Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£4.5m) and Demarai Gray (£2.8m) for Monday’s trip to Tottenham. However, it’s likely to come too soon for Ben Godfrey (£1.1m), Andre Gomes (£1.3m) and perhaps Vitaliy Mykolenko (£2.1m), who suffered a dead leg against Boreham Wood.

Antonio Conte haș Rodrigo Bentancur (£1.7m) and Lucas Moura (£3.3m) at hid disposal but Japhet Tanganga (£1.8m) and Oliver Skipp (£0.8m) remain out.
