Doubts

Sadio Mane

Another one bites the dust!

This time it’s Mane who’s possibly facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, after he suffered a suspected hamstring injury in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Wolves on Thursday night.

Information is sparse at this early stage, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp simply telling reporters the club will assess the damage.

Frustratingly, this knock has come at a difficult time for the Prem leaders as they now face three games in the next nine days, starting with their trip to Shrewsbury in the FA Cup on Sunday, then league clashes with West Ham on Wednesday and Southampton next weekend.

Tammy Abraham & Reece James

Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Jamie Vardy… and now Tammy.

At this rate, Gareth Southgate will be fielding David Nugent in attack for this summer’s European Championships.

Abraham injured his ankle in the midweek draw against Arsenal and it remains unclear how long he will be missing for.

There is some good news though, with Blues boss Frank Lampard cooling any fears he’d suffered a hairline fracture.

Chelsea’s young full-back James is also a doubt for their Saturday clash at Hull, having sat out of the game against the Gunners with a knee injury that he picked up against Newcastle.

Injury returns

Victor Lindelof & Eric Bailly

It’s been all doom and gloom for Man United recently – especially when it comes to injuries – but there is some good news for their fans ahead of their FA Cup clash with Tranmere this weekend.

Lindelof, who missed the dire defeat to Burnley during the week through injury is back in contention, as is his fellow defender and long-term absentee Bailly.

The Ivorian hasn’t made an appearance for United this season after suffering a knee injury during pre-season, but he was on the bench on Wednesday night and could start their game on Sunday.
