We think making a few tweaks and changes to your Dream Team is the perfect cure for those January blues.
Plenty of you have already made the odd transfer or two this month, and we’ve decided to take a look at the five most popular players that have been brought in so far…
1 Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Mo’s been a fantasy football favourite of ours since he returned to English football in 2017, and this season is no different.
He’s already the fourth-most popular player on the game, with over 50% of managers selecting the Egyptian.
And so far in January he’s been the overwhelming go-to guy for Dream Team gaffers, most likely down to his excellent goal-scoring form since the start of December.
2 Sergio Aguero (Man City)
Aguero missed the vast majority of Man City’s December run through injury, although he returned to action towards the end of the month with goals against Sheffield United and Port Vale.
Just in time too, with City still harbouring slim hopes of catching up to Liverpool in the Premier League title race.
If City are going to make ground, then they’ll need their ever-reliable goal-scorer to be at his best — and Dream Team managers will be hoping to be there to pick up the points.
3 Marcus Rashford (Man United)
It’s all going wrong for Man United at the moment, with an injury crisis gripping the club in both defence and midfield.
But at least their attack is in relatively good nick, with Rashy firing on all cylinders lately by netting seven goals in all competitions since the beginning of December.
It’s little surprise then that the England youngster has been hot property in recent weeks, especially as he’s currently the third-best player on Dream Team with 168 points.
4 Adama Traore (Wolves)
Perhaps one of the worst kept secrets of Dream Team at the moment is the scintillating form of Traore.
The nippy Spaniard has bagged 140 points this season, placing him in the top 10 best players on the game — and fantasy managers are starting to take note.
So far, less than 10% of Dream Team gaffers have picked the winger, but we fully expect that number to rise if he continues to impress.
5 Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)
TAA is having an incredible season, aiding Liverpool’s title-hunt in a role that’s uniquely his.
The right-back / playmaker was especially eye-catching in the win over rivals Leicester on Boxing Day, notching a goal and two assists in an all-action display.
His recent run means he’s by-far the best defender on Dream Team at the moment with 128 points, while only teammate Virgil Van Dijk is more popular on the game.
