Who are the most over-picked players on Dream Team this season?

We all have our favourites on Dream Team, don’t we?

Usually, it’s the most popular players on the game that tend to be the best points-scorers.

But so far this season, this lot look like the exception to the rule…

Liverpool’s all-action centre back is widely considered the best in the world in his position, while his points haul last season easily made him the best defender to pick on Dream Team.

But with the Reds struggling to keep clean sheets this term – despite their resounding dominance in the Premier League – the Dutchman hasn’t quite been the smartest pick for your back-line, with just 34 points to his name so far.

That hasn’t stopped over half of you picking him, though.

Harry Maguire (28.9%)

From the very best to the most expensive; Maguire’s £80million move from Leicester to Man United over the summer certainly made him an early-season favourite among Dream Team managers.

But United’s poor run of form, coupled with their defensive issues here and there, means the hard-tackling defender hasn’t quite justified his place in over a quarter of teams at the moment.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (19.3%)

Sticking with United’s summer signings, we’ve not really seen enough from AWB to warrant his place in nearly 20% of Dream Team line-ups.

Granted, the right-back has missed a few games through injury, but it seems his lack of assists or goals compared to other, similar defenders – like Lucas Digne or Ricardo Pereira – means his points haul is fairly low compared how to overly-selected he is.

Jordan Pickford (6.8%)

We all still love Picky for his England heroics in the World Cup last year, but perhaps that sentiment doesn’t quite translate into fantasy football.

The Everton keeper has often been guilty of the odd gaffe during matches, while his team’s general poor form means his points total doesn’t quite justify his price-tag on the game.

Paul Pogba (6.3%)

Perhaps we’re being a little harsh here.

After all, Pogba has been out of action since September – missing seven Man United games in all competitions – with an ankle injury.

Still, with a rumoured three-and-a-half week wait before his return to action, it’s a little strange that he’s still being picked by quite a few thousand of you.
