The transfer window is heating up.
Premier League clubs are beginning to splash the cash and that means there’s some shiny new toys for your Dream Team.
Whether it’s unproven gems, or certified superstars bringing, new transfers into your side can bring risk and reward.
Arsenal surprised everyone when they suddenly smashed their transfer record to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille for £72million.
It was even more surprising when at the start of the summer they supposedly only had £40million to spend.
Regardless, the Gunners have got their hands on the breakout star from Ligue 1 and if you want talent you have to stump up the big bucks.
Chelsea know all about getting their wallet out and their standout signing of the summer is Christian Pulisic, the American brought in to fill the Eden Hazard-shaped hole. No pressure there then.
As you can see above there really isn’t much between them in terms of Dream Team popularity either, with Pepe just edging it.
But who should you get into your team? Sit tight and we’ll compare the Premier League new boys.
Nicolas Pepe (£3.5m)
Other than teenage megastar Kylian Mbappe, Pepe was arguably the best player in Ligue 1 last season.
The 24-year-old scored 22 league goals and racked up 11 assists, coming second in both categories in the end of season charts.
Pepe is a ferocious right winger ready to slot into one of the most lethal front threes in the Premier League alongside Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Although still very much an unknown quantity to much of the British public his price-tag could add some serious pressue for the Frenchman in his first season.
However, at £3.5m you are getting a midfielder who is very much an attacker and could bring plenty of goals and assists.
He’s already found his way into 15.8% of Dream Teams and with a tie against Newcastle for his debut Pepe could be repaying that faith from day one.
Christian Pulisic (£3m)
Eden Hazard was the best player on Dream Team last season with 360 points so Pulisic has some giant boots to fill.
The young American is regarded as the poster boy for his nation and all eyes will be on him when Chelsea open their season against Man United next weekend.
Another crefty winger-cum-playmaker Pulisic is rightly regarded as one of the most talented players to come out of Germany, thanks to Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old has already impressed during pre-season with two well-taken goals against Salzburg.
He’s a bargain price attacker playing for a top-six side, guaranteed to start and although he may take some time to adjust Pulisic is well worth the gamble at this stage.
Everything for Chelsea is going to be going through him so if he’s not finishing off the move you can bet he’ll be swiping those assist points.
Both players represent somewhat of a risk at this point but Pulisic may be the way to go right now – he’s cheaper and won’t be vying with Lacabang for glory.
