It might be Valentine’s Day but we all know your love and affection really likes with Europe’s secondary competition.
They don’t call it Thirsty Thursdays for nothing.
The Europa League can be a real slog, especially considering there as many teams in the knockout stages as there were at the start of the Champions League.
It’s over to Arsenal and Chelsea – so here are a handful of players to consider for your Dream Team ahead of tonight’s first legs and next week’s second legs…
1 Willian (£3.7m)
What is a ‘Malmo’ anyway?
Chelsea were torn apart by Manchester City on Sunday but Willian was left out of the humiliation.
He’s impressed in this competition though, registering two goals and two assists from four games.
With Man United in the FA Cup on Monday and the return leg at Stamford Bridge next week, the Brazilian could be a relatively cheap gem.
2 Sead Kolasinac (£2.9m)
Four assists in 15 Premier League appearances is pretty handsome for a defender.
It’s just a shame he backed one up with an unfortunate own goal in the win over Huddersfield on Saturday.
Kolasinac is likely to start against BATE Borisov who are short of firepower after Nikolai Signevich left the club in January.
Sounds like at least one clean sheet to me.
3 Emerson Palmieri (£3.8m)
Emerson was unlucky (or perhaps lucky) to miss out against City on Sunday when you consider how diabolical Marcos Alonso has been of late.
And the Brazilian has generally taken his chances well this season, averaging 3.9 points per game so far.
If he can impress against Malmo he could stake a claim to take Alonso’s place at left-back for good.
