The ghost of Philippe Coutinho is apparently still haunting the Premier League.
The brilliant Brazilian may have left these shores nearly four months ago, but his legacy is still very much intact.
That’s because the statistics Coutinho racked up in his dazzling six-month spell before he moved to Barcelona are still overshadowing some of the biggest names in the division.

Namely Paul Pogba.
Pogba’s inconsistencies this season is truly emphasised by the fact Coutinho – despite leaving in January – has still scored two more goals, made 10 more key passes and created seven more chances than the Frenchman.
Ouch.
But it’s not just Pogba who is still left trailing humiliatingly in Coutinho’s wake.
Coutinho quickly notched 168 Dream Team points before moving to Spain, with his last Liverpool appearance in the 2-1 win over Leicester at the end of December.
The Brazilian also remains the most valuable fantasy football player, averaging more points per game (8.4) than anyone else this season – even former team-mate Mo Salah (8.3).
Coutinho’s 168-point total still places him 19th in the player points standings, ahead of the likes of Riyad Mahrez (162), David De Gea (153) and Alexis Sanchez (152).
What makes his tally all the more miraculous is he had to sit out the first month of the season – and six Liverpool matches – with a conspicuous back injury after his dream move to Barca collapsed.
Coutinho hit 15 points in a game an incredible seven times and earned eight Star Man awards from his 20 appearances.
Liverpool might not miss him that much – but fantasy football fans surely do.
