There’s something extra exciting about the Premier League this week.
Because not only do you have the weekend games to look forward to – which is a great excuse to get involved in Dream Team Weekender – but there’s a bunch of Premier Leagues matches taking place throughout the week too.
Have you signed up to play Dream Team Weekender?
- Pick 7 players – no limit to the number of players you can choose from one club

- Sign up to play Dream Team Weekender now
And that’s great news for fantasy football fans, because it means there’s an even greater chance to score some much-needed points at this crucial stage of the season.
But who are the best players available?
1 Nick Pope – £3.0m
Not only has Pope has been instrumental for Burnley this season, but he’s probably our favourite fantasy football pick of the year.
At current pace, he’s the fourth-best goalkeeper on the game so far with 104 points, while he remains significantly cheaper than a number of his contemporaries – including Loris Karius (£4.2m) and David Ospina (£3.7m).
Why not get him now as we reach the closing days of the season?
Burnley are up against Leicester at the weekend and then Chelsea on the following Thursday – both at home – with a hope of continuing their four-match winning streak.
2 Marcos Alonso – £5.4m
The goals may have dried up for Alonso, but he’s still a popular pick on Dream Team this season with 177 points so far – making him second-best defender on the game at the moment.
Chelsea face two tricky away days in the next week, with their trip to relegation candidates Southampton followed by that away day at Burnley.
But with the Blues not losing sight of their push for a place in next season’s Champions League (although they’re currently 10-points away from fourth-place Spurs) we reckon they’ve still got some big performances left in them.
3 Paul Pogba – £4.1m
Double P is back and should be knocking on the door of your fantasy football line-up, after his stellar weekend at Man City last time out.
With two goals and a Star Man bonus in that stunning 3-2 win, we think it might be time to stick the United midfielder back in your Dream Team, especially considering their next two games are up against bottom-of-the-pack West Brom on Sunday followed by Bournemouth on Wednesday.
4 Riyad Mahrez – £6.8m
It wasn’t too long ago that we were telling you to get rid of the Leicester playmaker, following his self-imposed exile from the Foxes first-team after he failed to get his dream move to Man City in January.
Since then, Mahrez has been on the score sheet in crucial matches for Claude Puel’s side and has continued his near-telepathic understanding with Jamie Vardy.
5 Alexis Sanchez – £5.2m
While he’s definitely been one of the most disappointing players on Dream Team this season, Sanchez is beginning to show his worth at Man United and had his best outing yet in the Manchester derby last weekend.
Much like Pogba, we think he’ll enjoy the slightly less-pressured games against West Brom and Bournemouth in the coming week, as United look to finish their campaign as strongly as possible.
6 Jamie Vardy – £5.5m
With games against Burnley and Southampton to face in Gameweek 32, we can easily see Vardy adding to his 16 goal-tally this season.
In fact, he’s netted in his last five consecutive games for club and country and will fancy a strong end to the season with Leicester ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
