Remember when Cristiano Ronaldo was written off earlier this season?
Ha, good times.
The Portuguese freak of nature has since embarked on a run of 22 goals in his last 12 games in all competitions, drawing a blank in just one of those appearances.
And his sensational form culminated in a virtuoso display against Juventus on Tuesday night which was headlined by a truly stunning overhead kick.
But there was, of course, a time when Ronaldo was gracing the Dream Team game and was taking fantasy football to pieces.
Ronaldo departed Premier League football for Real Madrid in 2009, but before that laid waste to English football which prompted the then world record £80m move.
And he holds a Dream Team record that will almost certainly never be beaten.
That’s because in the 2007/08 season, Ronaldo racked up a sensational 477 points across the course of the campaign.
That season United won the double, clinching both the Premier League and a dramatic Champions League final win over Chelsea.
It says a lot about Ronaldo’s feat that no other player has even broken the 400-point mark, let alone got close to his whopping total.
For some context, this season Mo Salah leads the player rankings with 357 points with Harry Kane hot on his tails on 335.
But both players would have to average nearly 14 points a game for 10 more games until the end of the season, with Liverpool AND Spurs currently only guaranteed another eight each.
Salah has indeed already overtaken Alexis Sanchez’s entire season total from last campaign.
But Ronaldo remains out of sight.
How many points would the Real Madrid hero score if he returned to the Premier League next season?
