Every fantasy football fan’s worst nightmare came true this weekend, with both Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero picking up potentially lengthy injuries.
Kane picked up a knock in Spurs’ 4-1 win over Bournemouth at the weekend, clashing with Cherries goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and eventually coming off after just 30 minutes.
And Aguero missed Man City’s clash against against Stoke on Monday night after reportedly feeling some discomfort in his left knee during a training session at the weekend.
But don’t fear, because we’ve got your back in this difficult time. Here’s five Dream Team attackers you can snap up right now to replace the crocked duo…
1 Gabriel Jesus – £3.2m
He’s back, fit and ready to cause mayhem.
With Aguero’s knee injury set to keep him out of action for around two weeks, Jesus could be the guy to resurrect your fantasy football season.
The Brazilian wonderkid has been out for two months after recovering from knee ligament damage, but was leading the line for the Premier League leaders before then.
He’s an absolute bargain at the moment too and will likely start every single one of their games until Aguero’s back.
Get ‘im in.
2 Heung-Min Son – £5.1m
Kane’s injury will probably mean more game-time for back-up striker Fernando Llorente, but we reckon you should opt for this guy instead.
In recent weeks, Spurs have relied more and more on the South Korean, with him netting seven times in his last four appearances.
What’s more, he’s notched 18 points in the most recent Game Week and with Kane’s injury will likely be a regular in the first-team until the end of the season.
3 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – £4.6m
Brilliant at the weekend and seemingly getting to grips with English football, Arsenal’s record signing is fairly affordable on Dream Team at the moment, considering his stature in the game.
Following his goal against Watford, the ex-Dortmund star has scored three times in six appearances for the Gunners so far, but has the slight draw-back of being restricted solely to the Premier League games.
With Arsenal finding a bit of form at the moment, he could spearhead an end of season push for European qualification.
4 Jamie Vardy – £5.1m
The ever-reliable Leicester striker was on-target again at the weekend, finishing off a breath-taking Riyad Mahrez pass in their 4-1 win over West Brom.
With 14 goals in the Premier League this season – already surpassing last season’s tally – and his almost-telepathic understanding with Mahrez (who’s very much back in Leicester’s good books after going AWOL at the end of January), there’s few better than this guy to have in your Dream Team.
5 Romelu Lukaku – £6.4m
Man United’s summer signing hasn’t exactly wowed fans at Old Trafford this season, but despite his critics he’s still notched 14 goals in the league so far.
Back-to-back strikes against Crystal Palace and Chelsea in recent outings – as well as his assist against Liverpool at the weekend – means he’s been a consistent Dream Team points-scorer lately.
And if that isn’t enough, he’s still the most-selected player on the game, with 49.3% of Dream Team managers opting for the towering Belgian.
He clearly knows how to score and will feature in Jose Mourinho’s first-team come rain or shine.
