Everton have finally strengthened their attacking options, with the signing of Cenk Tosun this month.
Bought for £25 million from Besiktas, Tosun was thrown into action at the weekend in the Toffee’s 4-0 defeat to Tottenham.
- Signed for £25 million from Besiktas
- 64 goals in 142 appearances for the Super Lig giants
- Will likely be Everton’s lone-striker this season
- Only £4.0m on Dream Team this season
Playing for just over an hour, Tosun spent long periods of the game in isolation, but showed plenty of neat touches in and around the box and was able to cause Spurs’ defence some problems.
With Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson likely to play behind him in a support role, Tosun has all of the ammo to be a real hit in the Premier League.
Which is why you should seriously consider sticking him into your Dream Team.
Tosun left the Turkish Super Lig with eight goals to his name this season, while he notched an impressive four goals in the Champions League as Besiktas made it through to the last 16 of the competition.
In fact, the towering striker managed an impressive 7.41 rating according to WhoScored in his five Champions League appearances, with only Pepe (7.48) faring slightly better than him among his former teammates.
There’s no denying that Everton’s potency in front of goal has suffered since the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in the summer.
Rooney is the club’s top scorer in the league at the moment with 10, while Oumar Niasse (5) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (3) have struggled to adequately fill the void left by Lukaku.
Tosun will likely be the Toffee’s go-to striker from here on out, and priced at £4.0m from the offset on Dream Team could make him a reasonably viable option.
Everton were always going to struggle away from home against Tottenham, but up against West Brom and Leicester in their next two fixtures could seriously show us what their new signing can do.
If you fancy giving him a go in your fantasy football team, be quick.
A good run of form could quickly see his low price sky-rocket.
