Paul Pogba is set to be out for between four and six weeks with a hamstring injury and is a serious doubt for the clash against Liverpool.
Jose Mourinho hopes the £89m midfielder will be fit for the trip to Anfield on October 14.
Pogba hobbled off the pitch in Tuesday’s night’s 3-0 Champions League win over Basel and was seen leaving Old Trafford on crutches.
A scan carried out at United’s Aon Training Complex today confirmed Pogba faces at least a month on the sidelines.
Mourinho is understood to be willing to bide his time with the France star’s recovery, as he is with the return to health of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Pogba's Dream Team stats
- 25 points so far
- 2 goals and 2 assists in all competitions
- Third most selected player this season (34.4%)
- WhoScored rating of 8.09 – highest in Premier League
Pogba will miss the home clash against Wayne Rooney’s Everton side on Sunday and next week’s League Cup tie against Championship side Burton Albion.
Premier League games against Southampton and Crystal Palace and a Champions League trip to Russia to play CSKA Moscow will also all come too soon for the midfielder.
