Cristiano Ronaldo could be returning to Manchester United this summer, in a move that will send United fans and fantasy football managers into delirium.
The Real Madrid superstar is reportedly desperate to leave the Bernabeu eight years after he made the switch to Spain, with Old Trafford his preferred destination.

Ronaldo’s apparent discontent in Madrid comes after the 32-year-old was accused of evading £13million in tax payments by Madrid’s criminal prosecution system.
And he’s so upset over the accusations that he wants to quit the Champions League holders.
His situation has put United, mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain and even Chelsea on high alert should he carry out his intention to leave Spain.
Which means this summer could be very interesting, with Ronaldo likely to attract a huge asking-price and wages which only a handful of clubs can afford.
What could this mean for your fantasy football team?
One thing is for certain – signing Ronaldo would be a huge coup for United this summer – with the four time Ballon d’Or winner likely to be the difference in their hunt for silverware.
Ronaldo has won it all during his time in Madrid, including three Champions League medals in the last four seasons, and has grown into one of the greatest players the game has ever seen.
Often, he’s been the catalyst of Madrid’s success, with his two goals in the Champions League final against Juventus proving he performs at very highest level.
As if there was any doubt, WhoScored, Dream Team’s ratings providers, gave Ronaldo a tasty 7.67 rating overall for last season, with his performances, as well as his 25 goals and six assists, resulting a 7.61 rating in La Liga coupled with an incredible 8.06 in the Champions League.
To put that into context, Alexis Sanchez (Dream Team’s highest points scorer last season) managed a Premier League rating of 7.76 with 24 goals and 10 assists, while Golden Boot winner Harry Kane was rated 7.68 – with neither having a long Champions League run as a distraction.
Much has changed for Ronaldo since he departed Old Trafford in 2009, converting from a tricky free roaming winger into the ultimate fox-in-the-box.
His pace may have faded as he’s grown older, but his anticipation has sharpened – and he’s still capable of scoring a plethora of goals.
In fact, capturing Ronaldo could be likened to the Red Devils’ signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic last season, with the past master still showing us what he can do.
So if you want Ronaldo in your Dream Team next season, we reckon it’s going to cost you a fair bit.
But he’s likely to be worth it.
Sergio Aguero (£8.0m), Harry Kane and Alexis Sanchez (both £7.0) were among the most expensive players at the beginning of last season, and we expect he’ll be worth around the same.
When can I sign up to Dream Team?
You can start getting your teams in as early as July 3 2017 – some six weeks before the Premier League season gets underway.
That gives you an awfully long time to monitor the transfer market and choose your team accordingly, with Ronaldo’s potential return to England likely to be hot on the agenda for Dream Team managers.
The closing date for the season game, therefore, will be the first day of the Premier League campaign on August 12 2017.
